Discover your creative spark with Imagine That!!
A series of friendly, fun, and welcoming creative workshops designed for those who don’t see themselves as “creative” (and creatives too, of course).
Whether experimenting with theatre, storytelling, sound, movement, or visual arts, these sessions are all about playful exploration, kindness, and connection.
What to expect…
Imagine That! - is seriously playful.
Join us in a relaxed, non-judgmental space where the focus is on imagination & joy, not perfection or being ‘good enough’.
Meet new people, de-stress, reawaken curiosity through cooperative creative games, and experience the wellness benefits of human-to-human connection — something we all need in today’s divided world.
Led by Lois, the founder of Innervative Creatives, whose ethos centers on nurturing creativity as a path to wellness, personal growth, and in turn, harmonious communities.
These workshops invite you to embrace creativity in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
Offering 6 weekly sessions, each one builds upon the last to help the group grow in confidence, develop openness to creative possibilities, and fortify healthy connections.
Here’s a breakdown of the sessions week by week
Week 1 (16/04) - Re-connect with yourself & others through movement and mark making - we will start by gently grounding in our own bodies before getting to know each other through creative movement and mark making.
Week 2 (23/04) - Express your playful side through Story, Movement and Visual Art - building on the connections we made in week 1, we will play games which provoke imaginative thinking and use the ideas that came up individually to co-create something together.
Week 3 (30/04) - Awaken your imagination through characters & co-created narratives - in this session we’ll use music and play with movement and creative writing to inspire characters before having a go at co-creating scenes together.
Week 4 (07/05) - Explore sound & creative writing to create a sonic portrait - this may sound daunting as many of us firmly believe we aren’t ‘musical’, but don’t be put off. In this session we’ll explore what holds meaning for us, and have a go at translating what comes up through sound and movement.
Week 5 (14/05) - Express your inner threads through textiles and story - For this session we’ll work with fabrics, threads and visual arts materials to explore our lived experiences. This may sound quite conceptual, but it will be infused with fun and joy. This more relaxed session will also offer the group the chance to connect, as the activity invites reflection and conversation whilst creating.
Week 6 (21/05) - Bring it all together : collective creativity - as it’s the last one, we’ll creatively reflect on what we’ve learned over the 6 weeks. Choosing any medium you wish, you’ll work alone to creatively express those reflections before bringing it all together in a cocreated, collective ‘performance’ or ‘sharing’. The intention here is to celebrate the diversity of experiences and creative responses from within the group.

I’ve never done anything like this before, are these sessions for me?
Lois has carefully curated each workshop, and the games within it, with fun & accessibility in mind. They really sing to her philosophy that everyone is innately creative, and could benefit from a bit more playfulness in their lives - even those who class themselves as ‘uncreative’ people.
All of the games offered are simply invitations to be creative and playful. You do not need to be ‘good’ at art, a trained actor, or ‘musical’ to join in. You can go at your own pace, and we actively encourage you to adapt the activities to your own needs and abilities. If you turn up feeling tired and lethargic one week you could choose to participate sitting down, for example. Or maybe you’d prefer to watch for some parts, that’s ok! You’re still participating by being with us.
The workshops are open to everyone over 16. We really do mean everyone when we say that, young, old, or in between. And it should go without saying that any one from the Global Majority, Queer & Trans communities are especially welcome :) as are any neuro spicy, Autistic or LD peeps out there!
The space is wheelchair accessible, and all the activities in all of the sessions can be adapted to your needs. If you are less mobile, have sensory sensitivity or any other access needs, please get in touch — we’re here to support you.
Is it therapy?
The sessions are therapeutic, but not therapy. Lois is not a therapist but is trained in therapeutic arts. She has lots of experience in holding supportive spaces, and may be able to signpost you to local services and resources if further support is needed, however, it is each participant’s responsibility to look after themselves in the session.
